Speaking as a former aircraft maintenance mechanic, its good for the plane. Its reasonable from the businessman's perspective, too. and from the 4000+ flights a day originating from the US it seems a lot of other people understand the dynamic.

jlallen....You wrote this on the sewer board and asked what we all think here:

I have to say Trump has thus far greatly exceeded my expectations...he does seem committed to making some real changes.....I do not however, agree with all of the travel back and forth to Florida every weekend....seems excessive to me even though he does use the facilities to do business.....I think he is not as concerned with "optics" at times as he should be....

I am a bit surprised that you would begrudge the president some weekends in his Florida home. Are you aware that when he is there, he is mostly working for us?

It doesn't bother me at all that he needs some respite from DC environment. He probably finds the open space there (and golf course), and warm weather healing. By healing, I mean recharging his batteries.

The man works day and night, with almost no days off. He works for free. He is the target of the most horrible lies and hate ever heaped on a president.

I say, give him a break. When he loads Melanie, her mother, all his kids, on a separate plane, loads a dog on another plane, and heads for Hawaii for two weeks, then I'll complain - just like I did with obama.

Our Pres. is making a lot of sacrifices to work for us.

He's not taking a salary. He put his business career on hold.
His former lifestyle is now restricted by a 24/7 job, etc.

As one of the oldest Presidents, his security cost after
leaving office will be less than what we've already spent
on Clinton and the 40 yrs. Obama might live.

He's not charging taxpayers for lodging on his trips.
He'd probably take Trump Force 1, if the Sec Service and
military would allow it.

It's only a 2.5hr flight. If he eats dinner and takes a nap,
I don't see the problem.
As someone wrote, he can work from anywhere.
At least he works, unlike the previous monarch.

Compared to what we subsidize Tesla for 25K exotic sports cars
every quarter, the cost of Trump going to FL on weekends pales.

25K X $7500 = $187.5M
