(NASDAQ:FRTE) TODAY OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1998--Forte Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:FRTE.O) today reported preliminary results for its third fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, 1997 below current analysts' expectations. Revenues are expected to be in the range of $17 million to $18 million, and the Company expects to incur a loss of $.25 to $.32 per share. These results are preliminary estimates and are subject to adjustment pending the release of final results for the third quarter. The Company attributed its revenue shortfall primarily to delays in completing end user sales in North America, as corporate IT (Information Technology) departments increasingly focused on Year 2000 and other issues, as well as to a decline in Asian revenues.
