When Trump supported a lot of wrong policies and ideas, because he didn't understand the underlying issues, that's not impressive.

When Trump abruptly changes his positions on issue after issue, because he still doesn't understand the underlying issues and probably doesn't care what the truth is, that's not going to bring him new supporters - it merely confirms your original assessment.

When Trump claims not to have not actually met now unpopular people he had earlier described as a long time friend of many years, that's not a sign of increased comprehension, improved judgement or a sudden lapse into honesty and integrity which would lead anyone to be suddenly impressed with him.

Donald Trump has always offered a money-back guarantee on all of his lies. If you're ever unsatisfied with any of Donald Trump's lies he'll cheerfully refund exchange them for three shiny-new lies. Only a simpleton would find a liar more impressive because their new lies now sound more agreeable than the original lies did. But there are a lot of simpletons about.

>>i do not know whether trump is a racist or not

Gee, I wonder why he is so popular with white supremacists and KKK members... who knew judging a racist is totally NOT complicated

>>but would think that eventually should it be that trump flips completely, 180 degrees, then the people who voted against him would vote for him

as has been pointed out, just because Trump changes his lies would not make him popular with folks who value integrity and smart policies... Trump is a moron and a thug

His core constituency, the very rich, the ignorant, and the stupid, will stick with him. The latter two groups feel that they have been mocked by the coastal elites, so to abandon him would be to admit that the coastal elites were correct. Besides, their grasp of complex policy is nil, so they will believe whatever he tells them.

The weakest group is likely to be the very rich, who did quite well under Obama.

Democrats and most Independents will never support him because he is a pathological liar, among many other things...
