South Korea has veto rights over US military actions under the Armitace Treaty, if Trump chooses to abide by that agreement.

He's often said our thousands if treaties and agreements should be broken because they are not in US interests, so any action is on the table.

trump said he would take care of the n.korean problem if china does not
china says attacking is "not the way"
trump sends fleet
china notes "not good idea"
japan says will join the fleet
china observes "not wise"
s.korea, the folks most affected, makes no move of preparation

now we are where we are

(1) some guesses

(1-i) war shall not happen this round

(1-ii) the hardwares on display may not be ready for all-out wwiii, but is more than plenty to take out 100% of s.korean gdp and 95% of japan gdp

(1-iii) important to note that the n.koreans are seriously crazy whereas the trump is only a good show / pretend.

i will believe trump is crazy should he have family members executed by mortar fire, anti-aircraft gun rounds, or poison in the face, or even by wild dog attack. until then, kim takes the crown of crazy.

(1-iv) do we know any formal national military formation that would commit suicide as a group when trapped during peace time nytimes.com (that is CRAZY !)

(1-v) iow, n.korea is very different from afghanistan, iraq, libya and syria, and different enough than russia

(1-vi) unclear what the usa fleet aims to do sailing towards n.korea, for the fleet cannot do anything, perhaps not even daring to fly into n.korean surface-to-air missile range and never mind actual air-space

(1-vii) the n.koreans are just nuts enough to launch attack on any and all planes w/i range of air-defence and may just take out a passenger liner to make a point

(2) thus we have an unpleasant scenario playing out, that the usa fleet arrives, do nothing, and go away, only to see n.korea test any number of 'latest' weapons at first opportune moment of readiness

the trouble w/ bluffs is that when they are called, what next besides showing the cards on the table?

(3) unclear to me what the japanese leader abe is playing at except to make japan a more prominent target than already is

(4) the ideal time to deliver a global-strike style of decapitating re-accommodation for kim was during the parade when he and his top lieutenants are all on tv in that parade ground

(5) perhaps the usa fleet would simply issue kim an invite to mar-a-logo

watch & brief
