Since Apple is Iomega's best customer, I'm surprized the Apple news didn't help IOM today!

Chris, <Does anyone think they are going to start knocking Zip 6 mos from now after selling all those PC's with a Zip installed, not very likely.>

My 2 cents (which is about all I have left after everything has gone down in my portfolio....)

I thought that this was a given. I am truly surprised that there are so many getting nervous, when the inclusion in their machines speaks for itself. But, then again, what else could we possibly talk about here?;)

Another thing...

Don't lose sight of the whole point of the Zip Drive...it is for the COMMON MAN...it's affordable, it's simple. Anything more is too much. Get it??!

I'm trying to be pithy here....

Linda

Chris,*** SONY ***

The SONY computer division & the Manufacturing division aparently havent talked much about removable storage. It was reported from Comdex by "FOOLS' that there seemed to be no connection. The computer dept does not want to give up the ZIP.

RE: Sony doing an about-face on Zips

Chris,

I'm with you about Sony's behavior. My guess is that,
like me, they read Frank Drummond's cogent reading of
the situation and decided to get on the Zip bandwagon.<g>
(Only kidding. I don't know why they announced the HiFD
and then embraced the Zip. I do know, though, that actions
speak louder than words, and that Compaq did something
very similar with the LS-120.)

Cheers, Tom (long IOM)
