One of the things I saw develop at the time ACA came online was a number of clinics closing and going to work for so-called "urgent care clinics" that take the easiest cases and double the price. Anything slightly complicated is sent to the ER. EHR is used to justify a level of care than get away with $300 for an office visit. The EHR is not an efficiency measure; it is seen as a small price to pay to document maximal revenue.

Really pathetic but I saw at least four doctors close up existing clinics and sign on with one of these chain operations Lousier care, higher cost, shitty service.
