The Democrats should have several by the 2020 elections. None will have much experience, though. The "new" Democrats made sure of that starting with Bill Clinton.

After thinking about it and watching Warren I am becoming convinced Warren is planning to run in 2020. She is doing everything a candidate does and she is the strongest Democrat there is today and especially as she will inherit most of the Sanders supporters.

I think the Sander's supporters will take delight if Warren decides to run feeling they get a second chance and redouble their efforts. It will give them another shot at it; and Warren has learned from Hillary in the last election it is important to corral those super delegates and Democratic support early.

We shall see, but the political equation I see in my head points to Warren running in 2020.
