<<The qntm
bulls have almost disappeared - no more "DLT alone is worth 50 bucks a share">>
I'm still here. However, until DLT growth resumes, I'm now appying a P/E of only 20 to DLT which results in a value of ONLY $33 per share of Quantum stock. Its unbelievable to me how everyone focuses on the disk drive business, when any objective valuation shows that DLT is worth much more than disk. I suspect those waiting to buy Quantum at much lower levels will be disappointed as Quantum increasingly becomes owned by those who recognise the value of DLT or when DLT growth resumes. In a market where any kind of reasonable valuation is hard to find, DLT at 14 times earnings and the entire disk drive businesses for free is a bargain. It is notoriously difficult to predict when such blue light specials end. Hutchinson's specials have ended in the face of some devastatingly negative news on during many recent selloffs.
