Alan: My name is Tom. Thanks for the testimony. It was anything but boring. Your parents sound like wonderful people. I am particularly impressed that your mother promised you back to the Lord if you were born. In my church we have a practice called "Dedication" in which parents do the same thing with their children - that is, we dedicate them to the Lord's service and dedicate ourselves to raising them in the ways of the Lord. From what I read, you were, indeed, dedicated to the Lord and it had a very positive impact on your life.
