Where do you get these ideas that modern economics tells us that it won't fly? Economics is nothing more than a tool used by a society and it needs to be regulated by a society.

Where do you see a conflict between modern social science and economics?

And what do you think if my approach?

Joseph Stiglitz is the most referenced economist in the world and Krugman is the fifth most referenced, and both are Nobel prize winners, and they both agree that we need to overhaul our society with modern social science.

In fact Joseph Stiglitz just wrote the definitive book on income inequality and the destruction it does to society.

The great John Kenneth Galbraith wrote the definitive book on the Great Depression and blamed it on the Republicans use of pyramid schemes.

And the super great John Maynard Keynes who ran with and was compared to Einsteiin and Bertrand Russell for intelligence:

We need to understand we need to use modern social science to build a better society.

So, what is the role for economics in your world. None, I suppose, since economics tells us loudly and clearly that your approach won't fly, at least not for very long.
