When talking about Intel's capital expenditures, lets keep in mind that Intel is probably beginning to build now the production facilities for Merced that will be needed beginning in 1999. Also, they are moving to .25 and even .18 micron technologies, and possibly to 300mm (12") wafers as well. All this costs money. What I want to know is where are AMD and NSM/Cyrix going to get the money to act in a corresponding manner ?
