Just a thought...

In thinking back about some posts discussing Iomega hiring engineers familiar MR, I wonder if they might be considering getting into consumer electronics with a Digital VCR product. Adopting MR would significantly reduce the number of components and their associated costs, and by producing an ultra high capacity product, they could attack a couple of different markets at the same time.

Regards - Dale

<Floppy outsells Zip every single days.>

Yes, as long as the price is less than $3.00 for 100. All one has to do is wait for the periodic rebate offers on boxes of 100 floppies - you've no doubt seen them too - the box sells for $30 and you can send in for a $30 rebate, and end up only paying the sales tax ($30 x .08 = $2.40) which goes to the state.

The question is, how long can they keep giving them away?
