edwin, please consider this wisdom from the source, i.e., a guy who thought AMAT was a screaming buy @38 a few months back, jumped on INTC @80, and LSI (this was my best) @38. FWIW, my record with telecom equipment and satellite stocks has been considerably better thank god, but proceed with extreme caution when surfer mike tells you that the mighty Q under 50 looks mighty mouth-watering to moi. I ain't crazy about the stock market at this juncture and think that good companies could get trashed right along with the turkeys. I expect humongous volatility for at least the next six months and whereas I used to buy on dips now think it's more appropriate to buy after craters. Obviously the Mighty Q has been smacked already but I fear the opportunity to add more under 50 will present itself. Damn I hope I'm wrong! Happy Trails. A Bear Stearns analyst report this morning is estimating this quarters earnings to be 50 cents. Good handset and ASIC sales were cited. The report stated that the company accounts for royalties on a cash basis. Going forward, the company is considering going to the accrual method of accounting for royalties because it is becoming a larger source of Income. The switch could come this quarter or next . This change will result in adding 10 to 20 cents in earnings.
