Who will buy the products they're going to make all this money on?

Oh, Bernie's going to allocate us each a little dough to buy sneakers and deodorant with. Available in any color you want, so long as it is gray.

I grant you it will happen. I suspect you will see it in agriculture first. Ask neolib.

Fast food will be not as quick as some think. Sure, things like the fry line will automate, but customer facing stuff will be slower. Now fully automated fast food will come. But it will hit the very low end. A significant number of customers will prefer interacting with an actual human being. Call centers won't. Frankly, the lowest levels might as well be automated since all they do is read from a script.

The middle class will take it in the shorts from AI. Again. The 1980s, part II. Probably home construction will want to automate pretty soon. In the Dallas area, there is a severe shortage of workers, damping down home construction a lot. Maybe plumbers and electricians will survive, but a lot of specialties will be wiped out.
