I have tried by best over the years to get Canadian fans agitated when they come to see their team play the Isles in NY. I have never succeeded. They all smile at me and remain calm when I tell them how I feel about the Canadians. They are the most respectful, polite fans I have ever encountered. Actually, I have even had to tell some of them that it is OK to stand and cheer when your team scores a goal, no one will bust your chops (like in Phili) if you do that here. At the Nassau Coliseum, there was a big racket which went on whenever the Flyers and Penguins came to town. The Isle fans would bust the chops of Phili fans and those Pen fans wearing a Crosby jersey and when they couldn't take it anymore and responded back in like manner, the ushers and security would remove them from the building. I would often see a whole section stand up and point a finger at the Flyer or Penguin fan and chant Asshole and when the Flyer (or Penguin) fan flipped out and went on a cursing spree, he was escorted out of the building. I was in the section where they did that so you are getting first hand information. And no, I wouldn't go that far and didn't participate, but it was funny how they all took the bait. They never did that to Ranger fans because they wanted to be treated well at MSG. It was only a Flyer and Sydney Crosby special.
