I wouldn't exactly call excluding Dell "blatant" but it was
intentional. This is only my opinion, remember.

I don't put Dell in the bigger game because they don't sell into
the entire enterprise like the others I listed. This isn't
a slam for Dell, it's just that they're playing in a different
(or rather a subordinate) arena. That will make it tougher
for them. Maybe they will do well and maybe not, but it's
really rough to play with the bigger players and they'll
have to be a LOT better to come out ahead in the long run.
Dell has smart management and good name recognition in
some major market segments, and we'll see where that takes
them, but they don't compete in the full spectrum now.

I didn't mean either to perturb you or to raise indignation.
Perhaps we could discuss this as an exchange of ideas rather
than raising hackles. If what I posted irritated you,
it was purely unintentional.

I, too, have my opinions of the individual players I did
list, but that's probably best left for later discussion.

at the present time dell has nothing that is 1/2 there to compete with ibm,cpq,hp high end.
dells' just now starting server biz and has long way to go
