As I think I understand it, you cannot use the clone on another computer, which has different hardware? Is that correct?

Re: Backing up media...

Currently I'm waiting on a 6TB external drive. Its purpose will be to copy files of a 4TB media drive that is full.

This could be done by doing a clone, but instead I'll be doing the copy with the drag & drop method.

The reason for using a file manager is that it will copy the files one at a time and ensure that the new drive is totally defragmented.

* Note: An operating system drive copied this way, won't boot.
