Hayeks ideas are outdated. He talks about the pitfalls of central planning, but democratic socialism does not involve central planning, it involves democracy starting at the local level and working its way up through state and federal and all decisions are done according to the people and their representatives.

There is no better form of government I know of.

Economics is a social science and just part of a comprehensive social system.
