John, don't want to take away your 80%. But, history
is likely to favor Intel in this connected world. Until,
of course, Intel gets replaced by the next dominant
architecture. IBM mainframes once owned the market, mini's stole
their thunder, and PCs took it away. Power to the people,
you might say. No one knows what the next architecture
will be, but is unlikely Compaq will develop it. Intel
could, but more likely it will come from some unknown
start-up no one can predict. Then Intel will go into the
box business with the new system to keep their revenue
flowing like IBM has done with Intel chips. The wheel
keeps going round and round. Nonetheless, I feel safe
with Intel's continuing to grow profits for the next 5
to 10 years. My profits in Intel the past 3 + years
have almost matched my University pension system accumulation
of 24 years. That's why I will stick with INTC over CPQ.
Go with the flow, not the imaginary glow.
