Canada looks to ban US coal shipments

by John Siciliano | Apr 26, 2017, 6:02 PM

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is being prodded by one of his country's regional heads to retaliate against President Trump's tariffs on Canadian lumber by imposing a ban on U.S. coal.

British Columbian Premier Christy Clark pressed Trudeau on Wednesday to enforce a trade ban on shipments of thermal coal, also called steam coal, at its terminal in Vancouver in response to the Trump administration's 24 percent tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber imposed Tuesday.

If they cut off our coal in retaliation for a tariff on their wood, what's next ... canceling the Keystone PL he made a show of okaying? That's the thing about these trade wars. The other side doesn't just take it, they react and everyone ends up worse off.

That's the thing about trade wars. There's always a retaliation. What'll Trump do next, decide to cancel the Keystone PL he recently decided to push?

They just had a big mudslide in Laytonville, ca. Right across 101. Didn't happen because of the AGW drought either. Wharf failed to mention it.
