As I mentioned last night, and you have reiterated tonight, these Southeast Asia currencies continue to hurdle downward. The Indonesian Rupiah was 2430 on July 1, 1997, and at 10:30 PM EST tonight it stood at 8150. A 70 % lost in value in just over six months. Perhaps the most important subjects are those that are ignored in the press. The "Newspaper of Record", the New York Times in it's Business Section today, made no mention of this ongoing catastrophe. In fact, it didn't even have a currencey report.(Florida Edition) It must really be getting bad!!!

In contrast to the New York Times, the Times of London discusses the currency crisis in a somewhat succinct, but adquate fashion.
