"Wharf Rat while not an academic or scientist is a good barometer of successful indoctrination."
Actually, I hear tell the academics declared him to be a Master of Science. The community college where he taught respiratory pathophysiology declared that he was an academic.

"There is a lot of repression and group think among scientists today"
There's a group which thinks gravity has to be overcome in order to put a satellite into orbit. There's a group who thinks that light travels at the speed of 186,000 miles/second. One group thinks lightening is electricity. One group thinks you can snip DNA from one life form, and then splice it into a different critter. There's a group which thinks that various bacteria and viruses cause various illnesses. Can't forget the global warming group. The members of that one all belong to a group which believes in an invisible atom named "carbon". Lots of groups, mostly all overlapping.
