Zikzak bat signal!

Projecting UDC's revenues is never easy but this quarter has particular variability because of the amount of capacity coming on-line.

We saw LGD have a huge spike in revenues in Q2 2015 when they are were bringing on a new Gen 8 line. Does that get repeated for both their new mobile and TV lines which should see commercial shipments in Q3? The fact that the V30 will have an OLED means we should see a bump in LGD mobile revenues in Q2. OLED TV sales probably doubled YoY so that side of the business should remain strong. LGD revenues were at their lowest point in Q2 last year ($11.6m) but the combination of sales growth and new capacity makes me think that they can grow sequentially from the $19.4 million last quarter.

OTOH, Samsung's revenue spike in Q1 was so big that it is hard to say whether it is repeatable. They went from ~$11 million in revenues in each of the first three quarters of 2016 to $28.3m in Q1 2017. The new materials were obviously a major component of that but they still probably had over $10 million in Apple/new capacity revenue. Some of that should show up again in Q2 as Samsung began production for Apple in June, but it is doubtful commercial shipments would be anywhere near that high. If the revenue spike is directly tied to testing new capacity it might be happen again as new the A3 fab has new lines ramping in Q3 and Q4. However, I have to think that the size of the increase makes it likely that it was some Apple related testing that doesnt get repeated every time Samsung brings on new capacity.

The only disappointing area in the Q1 report was China revenues. UDC has been around $1.5 million in China revenues for five straight quarters. When does all the news we have been hearing out of China start to hit the revenue line?
