all: SEQUENT-DEC Joint venture on Unix development on 64-bit Merced

biz.yahoo.com

I heard the CNBC interview with SEQUENT CEO. Sequent has been developing Unix in the last 10 years on Intel processors. DEC has experience on 64-bit alpha chip. This joint venture is good news to Intel. Sequent 64-bit Merced platform supports both Unix and NT. This competes with SUNW.

Despite the NASDAQ down by 22.5 and Dow down by 82.00, INTC is down only by 3/4. I would say INTC is holding up good on this bad market day due to continued Asia turmoil.ATML bad news does not help the chip stocks. Thanks

Money Manager Jim Burns of J.W.Burns in CNBC interview strongly recommends Intel at the current prices. He has been holding INTC for the last 7 years. He strongly recommends CSCO and prefers CSCO to 3-com.
