Hi Jim, Thanks for the 10th anniversary wishes! You too have been an AIMer for a pretty long time!

Just to show that I don't always do things exactly right, I've posted my Gold Fund results since I started that AIM account last spring. You can find not only the familiar Newport graphs there, but below those on the page you will see the overlays of VGPMX, INIVX and FGLDX. This will help explain my desire to switch funds in Dec. before the Tax Season was over.

Best regards,
Tom

Stages of Funds! I periodically look at the stages of Mutual Fund Cycles. Just as the seasons change, as a standard clock circles the numbers, Mutual Funds therefore goes thru these same cycles. There is always a beginning stage and a ending stage. Ones objective is to get into these funds when they are in stage one, and say good bye to them when they are in Stage 4. View it like the seasons!! Spring time is a good time to plant seeds, so that is STAGE ONE, It is also the best time to buy into a fund. The summer or STAGE TWO is a time to watch our plants mature and we keep a eye on them and watch for trouble. Hopefully they will grow strong. STAGE THREE is the Autumn or Harvest time.. This is what we have been waiting for! It is the best time of the year for most of us and is when our funds have matured and is giving us nice returns. The Winter or STAGE FOUR is the season of "dormant" for most plants and funds. They go no where!!!! Then the cycle repeats itself.

So where are we today in the Cycle?

Stage 1.... NONE

Stage 2.... EUROPE (tender stage)

Stage 3.... UTILITY, BONDS, FINANCE

Stage 4.... ALL the REST!!!

Have a great Week

JB
