That's a pretty rude comment.

I would have thought that people on this thread would have welcomed additional opinion. Having followed Applix for several years, and knowing the competitors pretty well (I worked at Oracle for 5 years), I may have something useful to offer. However if you want to ignore dissenting opinion...

Apparently you haven't reviewed the OLAP test results completely either. Applix highlights that it did the load-and-calculate faster, and returned first-results faster than Oracle Express, but didn't provide the overall query time (all results) comparison. They also (unlike Oracle) don't provide a download of the complete benchmark results.

Oracle can be optimized for first-results, or all-results. The fact that Applix left out the overall comparison makes me think it wasn't as dramatic a difference.

ANybody have more information?
