Warning on Apple Performance

I am very heartened to see Apple move up this fast, but caution is in order. As Apple rolls upward on euphoric momentum, it is very tempting to think it has turned the corner. It may well have. Use the opportunity to buy cheap puts. Right now, the April 98 or January 1999 17.5's or 20's should be considered. Any new buys should be paired one for one with a put. And, do not sell covered calls into this rally.

Remember this post next quarter just in case Apple falls a bit short of newly heightened expectations, either due to more Asian fallout, a seasonal effect, no new one time gains, delays or unfavorable performance from Office 98, etc. If I'm wrong, you've given away a point or two on a run to 40.
