<< from the short side...NO??>>> I hit several shorts in Dec. and they bottomed out. They they all went back up 50 % of what they lost. I am back in with shorts as of yesterday. Fast money in shorts, but U got to get out when they are down. Seldom do I see anything just keep sliding. Last winter U.S.ROBTICS just slid and slid, but unusual.Have to work with popular stocks to reduce the risk of getting your short called in if you are out a few bucks. Years ago I shorted something one day and got it called back 2 days later. Small firms have a bad time keeping shorts going. Glad to see some big firms getting into electronic trading. 6 yrs. ago I told the head of the Pru office in town about e*trade. He never heard of them. I waited 35 minutes on the phone to talk to somebody at E*trade one time. They couldn't understand why I closed the account!!

>> rrman>> A co. "Insight Trading" just opened an office in town. They have about 30 BIG screen machines tied into Level II. Cost $ 2500 to take their training course. Suppose to trade 1000 shares at a crack hoping to make 1/8 or 1/4 pt. a trade. I talked about charts and the Mgr. didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I guess everybody has his own method. Seemed kind of tough on the nerves watch allthe MM moving their bid and ask around and trying to out guess them.
