Janet! How are you!!!?? How's the house??!! How was Christmas?? How's life in general?
I thought it was a rule doctors learned in med school- never see patients on time because that might imply that they're not terribly, terribly busy and in terrific demand and then the patient might infer from that that they're not getting the best.
It never occurred to me to object to a wait in a doctor's office--dealing with health issues and the attendent emotions isn't an exact science, particularly for an ob or a surgeon. But I lost my temper bigtime with an optometrist once. I was paying a sitter for two babies, had asked for the first appointment of the day, and was kept waiting for an hour before he even showed up. I was furious and told him so. He actually said, "You can't tell me this is the first time you've had to wait for a doctor." Excuse me? Doctor? I said, "You were in the ER saving the life of a pair of glasses maybe?" His nurse told me on my angry way out that he did this all the time--was just lazy.

Really-honest-I was two minutes early for my appointment yesterday and was only kept waiting three. My dentist is extremely organized. And cute, too.
I hope you're going to tell us about the house and the move. Horror stories about moves and new houses abound.
