My involvement is as a manager within one of their customers, I am not familiar to that degree with programming languages. The opportunity that presents itself with the CDSL acquisition by CGI is newly developed software platforms for banking. The systems developed are really leading edge and I'm sure will be marketed far and wide. There is a very strict schedule to convert off of the older GEAC platform to what they call the RFS-NT platform. During the next two years they will likely have windows of opportunity to sell outside of their existing customer base. Certainly, CGI will not take a back seat in this arena.
Recently I talked with a computer consultant in Calgary who appears to have confirmed my understanding that most US ABM systems are not Y2K complient. WOW! This is another area where CGI and its industry associations are in the know and are moving fast to make the changeovers necessary for their clients. They likely have capacity to sell into this area of their expertise as well.
Someone mentioned their switching capacities. In Canada they are the prima dona leader in this area. Like cherry picking this switching business. Complex in many ways, however, once set up they can reap the rewards.

Smart company this CGI in my opinion,

Best regards
