The reason for that distraction is simple. Mr. Comey was instrumental in providing ongoing cover for multiple former and allegedly ongoing investigations into the Clinton Machine and by default, the former Obama administration as well. The goal now by these operatives is to neutralize Mr. Comey’s Trump-appointed replacement because if an independent-minded individual with little to no allegiance to the Establishment powers in DC were to assume that position, a whole lot of very powerful people would rightfully become the targets of increased FBI scrutiny.
