I am responding to your post on GPM here. A centrist French President is the equivalent of a very liberal US Politician. I have mixed feelings about instituting a 60% gender requirement for Cabinet positions. On the one hand, I believe the most qualified person should get the job. On the other hand, I know how unfair the system is and that must be taken into account when opportunity arises. In the late 70s, there was a case that went all the way to the Supreme Court, Bakke vs the State of CA. Bakke sued a law school because he was denied entry when a minority with lesser credentials was accepted. He lost the case. en.wikipedia.org
