Trump campaign reports fundraising surge, says Americans still stand with president

By S.A. Miller - The Washington Times - Thursday, May 18, 2017

President Trump’s campaign announced Thursday a record-breaking fundraising haul this week, saying it shows the American people stand with the president despite unrelenting attacks from the news media and political foes.

The campaign website, DonaldJTrump.com, and the joint fundraising operation with the Republican National Committee took in more than $314,000 in contribution Wednesday, which is a one-day record for fundraising since the election, said the campaign.

“The American people are with the president stronger than ever before,”
said Michael Glassner, executive director of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., which recently announced Mr. Trump’s re-election effort.

The money came in the same day the Justice Department named a special counsel to probe accusations that Trump campaign officials had links to Russian spies that interfered in the U.S. presidential election.

It was also the same day some Democratic lawmakers called for impeachment of the president.

“The president formed a very unique bond with the American people in the campaign as he understands better than anyone their economic struggles and concerns about the future for their children and grandchildren,” Mr. Glassner said. “I know the president deeply appreciates their support of him as he continues to fight the mainstream media and the establishment forces working together against him in Washington.” ...

Draining a swamp is stinky and muddy

donsurber.blogspot.com
President Trump's efforts to drain the swamp of Washington is messy. As the water drains, we are left with the stench of 74 years of corruption -- dating back to the inauguration of FDR -- or maybe 207 years of corruption dating back to John Adams moving there.

But this is a clarifying moment for America. As the water drains, we see the crooks for who they are. The first cries of impeachment come from those who benefit most from this abuse of the system.

Fear not. The nation is in good hands. The government is run by a billionaire too big to be bought with a hide far thicker than his tweets have the enemies of the people --and every crook and his accomplices are enemies -- believe.

On Monday, the Washington Post lied about him.

On Tuesday , the New York Times did.

On Wednesday, President Trump appointed a special prosecutor to check out those lies.

On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal concern-trolled about the special prosecutor.

And then there is this from Ace on the Washington Post today:

More #FakeNews from the National Laughingstock: Washington Post Dresses Up Old Silly Joke as Allegation that Trump Is Being Paid By Russia We are in the middle of a rebellion and a counter-rebellion by the forces of evil.

Letting Obama re-invent the United States as a Marxist state was evil.

This is the restoration of the United States as a constitutional republic.

It is messy. It is smelly. So was Hercules cleaning the Augean stables.

We have no choice. Either President Trump succeeds or we are doomed to the collapse of the American experiment.

Remember, this was a Flight 93 election to save the nation

There's not going to be a check found payable to Donald Trump signed by Vladimir Putin. Any funding will come through cutouts. Through Cypriot or Icelandic or Caribbean banks or oligarchs or mobsters, all of whom in Russia are under Putin's thumb.
