Ron, search this board, please. We've had many discussions about clones. Especially when they reside on the second HD of a desktop PC. Then you can boot from either HD and there is no need to restore one of them if it fails.

A clone is a fully functional drive copy to a separate drive that can be booted.

Booting is something no image can do.

Also for those that may have this confused, restoring a clone makes no sense because they are bootable as is. There is no such thing as restoring a clone. You can only switch drives.
