Just use a hammer and chisel and beat the hell out of them. Software destruction can takes hours per drive. No a magnet will not wipe it clean.

Have you TRIED beating? --We use a sledge hammer and then put the remains in a bag of cat litter box droppings. Really don't worry after that. We just don't have access to a high powered magnet around the house......Then again, maybe you don't have access to a cat litter box.... Good luck! Mike
