As you get further from Tha Atlantic, the higher it is. Not by a lot, but even a couple of feet makes a huge difference.

The only long term solution is to move somewhere else, though. South Florida is gone with a several foot rise in sea level. When that will be is unpredictable. Assuming sea level rises at the current or slower rate is foolish. Even if global warming we're to stop today, or even reverse, the oceans have soaked up a lot of heat. So sea level will continue to rise for some time. Too long to save South Florida.
