Ramsey Su: <<Left my brains somewhere in the cloud forests. My fingers no longer recognize a keyboard. My body has been donated to the mosquitos proliferation foundation.>>

I am overflowing with envy! Sure sounds like a heck of a better time than being in the office!

<<Can someone tell me what happened during the past month, in 4 or 5 simple words?>>

QCOM down, then up, now down. (Let me know if too confusing.)

Welcome back. ; )

Ramsey, who is the most unlikely person in the world to use 4 or 5 simple words when one, long, rambling essay unblemished by paragraphs could suffice? Surfer Mike of course, so read on , oh brain dead one.
Okay so we got this Asian Flu thing see and for a week or two in December, it looked fatal so the market bombed every tech in sight and most particularly the Mighty Q.
Then the market decided: twarn't no big thing, get a shot, have an Egg Nog, and maybe you'll feel okay in the morning. Popped up a few points.
Then, very early January effect lasting 36 hours, 5 minutes, and 13 seconds, a few more points and we're on a roll.
Then, you have the go*a,m@#$ nerve to come back from some freaking trip to mosquito land and we're all sick, no shots available, and we're back to the darkest days of mid-December.
Meanwhile, qpuppy got in a dog fight with some guy named Bruce over who has the right to rule to rule the kennel (hint: the pooch was not in a mood to nominate Bill), all hell broke loose, and everybody's bummed out as our favorite canine seems (hopefully temporarily) out on a long walk.
So here's the news that's fit to print: the Q is kicking fanny world wide, Eudora with PureVoice is looking hotter than the dog after Bruce, and we all got a chance to buy more at an absurdly low valuation. Take it to the bank: Mikey is trading in the '48 Merc to load up @45.
Finally, the Niners are going to Qualcomm Stadium in a few weeks to give that joint a touch of class and not incidentally roll out of town with the Lombardi Trophy. Any other questions? Welcome Back. Mike Doyle

Welcome back Ramsey. What happened, in brief, is that you (and I) have been proved sickeningly right. Re: the Q being in the crossheairs of the Asian, esp. Korean, worries.

I picked up a bit of Q at 50 and traded for a slight profit. Have not conviction to pick up again here now.

My sense is that we are in for at least one more downdraft (in overall mkt), possibly fairly massive, based on real world Korean problems actually hitting and looking worse, rather than better, than expected.
