According to Eater, the two aforementioned white women came under fire after being featured in a WWeek article that describes how they “picked the brains of every tortilla lady” in Mexico to learn their secrets. whined Mic in a subsequent article. The Portland Mercury followed with an article stating, “this week in white nonsense, two white women decided it would be cute to open a food truck after a fateful excursion to Mexico.” “White people are nearly 50% more likely than people of color (POC) to own a business in the state of Oregon,” the spreadsheet’s ‘About’ section declares. “Ownership builds wealth in ways that employment does not.” The spreadsheet’s authors clarify that they are a group of “POCs,” because apparently people have accused them of being white. “Restaurants or food carts selling non-European international cuisine owned *solely* by white people who were not born or raised in the country or region from which the restaurant’s cuisine originates.” Warning: may cause cancer.
