Since republicans tend to gravitate toward "strong" father figures and obedience, it kind of makes sense there's be more chance for child abuse. Child abuse and molestation rely on a victim who feels the abuser is powerful, and cannot be disobeyed- that's why it's so perfect for private schools and the Catholic church. It's why it also fits a culture that praises obedience and conformity- not exactly liberal strong suits. But hey, maybe you can find some numbers that work for you.
