Bob,

I am sorry to hear about your mother.

I faced a similar situation ten years ago with my mother. She had always told me she did not want to finish her life dependent on external support, but she had not executed a DNR. I had her medical power of attorney. As her situation deteriorated her doctors started to nudge me in the direction of removing her from life support. I was nearly overwhelmed by the thought that I was being asked permission to end my mother's life. All of my prior discussions with her about her wishes no longer seemed important. I resisted the doctors until it was obvious that there was no hope and I finally gave my assent. While I know at an intellectual level that I made the right decision, it still haunts me at a personal level.

I hope that your mother recovers and eventually dies peacefully in her sleep many years from now. My prayers are with her, you and your family.

Glenn

Hi Bob,

Well I have kicked into high prayer Mode for Your Mom, you and Jan.... You folks are of especially hearty stock and if anyone is able to pull through this I know it's your Mom..... I knew last night that today is an important day for a number of people ... My Mom is at the Mayo clinic today.... not as serious right now as you are enduring.

The Power of prayer and the Lord is the most powerful thing we have on this earth and likely in all the heavens.

She's now alive on day 3 without a temperature and her blood pressure is building without the need of pressors.

She literally has a small army of surgeons, anesthesiologist, and nurses pulling for her.

this is all very good news under the circumstances.......

all my love and deepest prayers for your Mom and you, You are an exceptional Son and your Mom knows it
and that gives her supreme comfort.

John

Bob

I sadly I know the feeling too well, 3 years ago I lost an older brother from brain cancer, he battled it for 9 years with two brain operations. Last year I lost my 91 year old father. I remember for so many years he would repeat many times a day, "why am I still here, all of my friends and family are gone and I am still here".

Whenever I was visiting with him and we would be watching TV and he would heard on TV of some celebrity who just pasted and was younger than him, he would would look at me and again say........

My father lived until 91 1/2 and smoked a pack of cigarettes each day from his teens until the very end. Many things just don't make sense.

Thoughts are with you

Life is Good!!
