And the goalposts go whizzing down the field...

I have been pointing out that natural gas is cheaper. By a lot. And economics are driving coal out of the market. Which you have been denying, but now admit...

Some subgroup thinks it is okay to make "electricity prices skyrocket" but that does not mean it makes good economic sense.

There you go again. Making shit up. Any proof that electricity prices are skyrocketing?

Taking the coal industry out of business is stupid. Markets need to decide when that happens, absent a compelling reason for regulators to intervene which does not exist.

Make up your mind. Either the price of natural gas is driving coal out, or it isn't. So far, you are arguing both.

He won't bring it back to the status quo ante, however, production for the week ended 5/27 was 2.5 million short tons greater than the same week last year.

One week out of 52. The long term trend is still down. You do realize that things vary from week to week? So far, Trump has done little to affect coal production. So any changes are not due to his actions.
