We are int he second season of Shetland. As you suggest, photography of the scenery is just astounding. We keep stopping it just to stare. But it's really bleak. And the surprise, at least to me, is that I understand it's written by the same author that wrote/writes Vera. Which is not nearly so bleak. A category or two toward sunny.

But we'll keep watching. Acting terrific, narratives strange but intriguing, and the dialogue is almost ununderstandable.
