I seldom have time to look at SI anymore. Trump is doing exactly what I figured he would. Preserving an empire which will one day die. And saving a civilization which will eventually die. But as to today's news. Comey (as a former prosecutor) has not respected the truth for at least 35 years. But I am surprised he is such a poor liar! Let me paraphrase just one of the things that had me laughing today as I listened to his rehearsed and scripted responses. (The one about the seagulls was not delivered correctly and did not get the intended laugh!). But he had clearly prepared an answer to every question and had also prepared the delivery as best he could. But why is he such a nut case? Let us just look at one example. 1. Yes, the President may legally and ethically direct the attorney General or ME to end an investigation. 2. When the President gently said he hoped I would go easy on someone we both thought was a "good guy", I thought he was twisting my rubber arm. No. Scratch that! I believed he was directing me to end the investigation (which I have testified he has the legal and moral authority to do). 3. Therefore, I disobeyed his DIRECTIVE. (Ho! Ho! Ho!) -- because I have no respect for the laws I am citing. Somebody once allegedly called him a "NUT Case". They were being kind... :-) If Comey truly believed he was being legally and morally ordered by the President to end an investigation--he would have done so if he was a law-abiding citizen. So he is either a self-serving criminal...or he is a bald-faced liar. I am of the opinion that he is a (rather) benign psychopath whose testimony is all contrived and rehearsed--with no boundary between truth and lies--but saying only what will work for him and his self-serving agenda. His skin is like the thinnest tissue paper. He will always try to get even--and then some... Addendum before edit runs out. The asses that are questioning him are not very swift. So sad. And McCain never was smart. And he has reached the point where he needs to stop the pretense. He does not have the intellect to question people--regardless of whether his heart is or is not in a good place. (and he is one of those people who does have a mobile heart).
