<<The Wall Street firm also said it lowered its rating on shares of Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NYSE:AMD - news) to neutral
from buy.>>

perhaps, yes, from earnings fallout, but i trust this is not
the result of idti guidance. i find it rather ironic, in the wake
of the compaq announcment, that amd is included. the timing, as
well as the validity --- or value for that matter---
of up or downgrades is lost on me anyway: apart from creating or
preserving client postitions, or positions to be, they all seem just
a tad "hypocritically late", as in "after the fact". as in downgrading
after an earnings warning...to preserve the record.

(eg. what brilliant analyst decided to initiate coverage finally
on at&t when it reached a life time high?)

i don't think it will have any meaningful effect.
