Abandoning a Microsoft OS ...

<< The day of abandoning Windows came a step closer today. >>

What is deterring you from doing so, Steve? You extol the virtues of Linux and I'm sure you could choose a distro that would run fine on your Vista DPE and suit your taste.

As noted in my SI profile, "I'm a 'Long Time (32 years) user and enthusiast of Microsoft's evolving OSs for consumer, prosumer, and business DPE." While I've never thought seriously of abandoning Windows and never seriously considered a non-Microsoft OS for any length of time since abandoning Convergent's CTOS back in late '85, there have been many days when I have been seriously annoyed by Windows and most recently that's been in the days following a patch Tuesday.

Cheers, - Eric L. -
