I think of gas and the car as separate products, rather than a product and a component of the product. A better analogy would be the auto engine, if you could order engines from different manufaturers for your Buick.

I just think that *eventually*, the box makers (finished goods) will win the brand loyalty of the consumer. It is not true now, I think that we will get down to 3 or 4 majors with 85% share before that happens. They also need to deferentiate their products, something they have been totally unable to do at this point.
