How old is your scanner and what model is it? Like I said earlier supporting Legacy is one of Windows biggest challenges. Historically Apple told their users too bad when the moved in another direction. Microsoft has been pretty good but they realize it is a real anchor for moving forward so they are having to stop supporting or hardware.
