I use Intuit's Quicken 6.0. It sure makes things eaiser. Just ordered Quicken 98. Hope it gets even better.

Good Luck

Robert

Craig: Re: anyone have the same problem?

Oh, boy ... ubetcha.

The only solution I know is to stay on top of it throughout the year. I created a spreadsheet with buys/sells per account, then updated it whenever I traded.

Well, almost whenever ... there were some times when I was travelling that I'd make a trade or two in an airport and couldn't post it in the spreadsheet. Usually, I remembered when the transaction verification arrived in snail mail to post it. But not always.

That's the problem. Unless it's completely accurate, it doesn't do a lot of good, other than give you a ball park number to work from.

So, as we speak, my office floor is cluttered with stacks of confirmation sheets. The next step is to sort them all by date (they're already close because that's how I filed them), and then double-check them against the spreadsheet. I'll give the spreadsheet to Mr. TaxMan.

Is there an easy solution? I hope so, but don't know of any.
