I am curious why the prices for that very large external HD are so cheap right now.

It got me wondering if there is a new and improved technology in that capacity range about to hit the street?

Maybe they are very slow drives?

I'm going to combine two 4TB drives with the 8TB Western Digital.

Thanks for posting the $179 8TB Seagate option. :)
