I have had about 15 hard drive failures sine the 80's.. Internal and external ones. I don't abuse them, I take good care of the drives. I have had really bad luck with WD Passport external USB drives I have 2 that failed on me. I use to buy a lot of drives over the years.

I make multiple copies of my important data also. However, in this case, I'm combining two drives into a single one.

This will mean there will be three copies of the data, since the 4TB drives already have clones.
